He Knows Our Needs

This week during my studies of the 4 Gospels, I used a technique called substitution to better relate the stories I find in the verses to my daily life experiences. This week, I spent some time carefully studying Luke 12. This chapter is filled with so many stories, insights, and counsel. However, ever there was one that stood out to me. A piece of counsel that I felt could cure anyone of the stress and anxieties that come with life.
This counsel is found in Luke 12:30-31. It reads:
30 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
31 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
It was these verses specifically that stood out to me because they teach an incredible principle: God will provide. The natural course and progression of our lives come with both growth but also tribulation. At times, these tribulations cause stress and anxiety that can make this mortal experience impossible to navigate. A large amount of these stresses are caused by things such as fear of not having enough money, not being able to provide for a family, or not being emotionally available to loved ones.
It's important to recognize these challenges, anxieties, and stresses. However, we can't let them consume us and allow them to control our lives. We must take comfort in the counsel that these verses in Luke 12 provide us. Our Father in Heaven knows of our needs and as we focus on His work, He will provide for us. I know that as we take the time to focus our attention on the Lord, we will be taken care of. The anxieties that once plagued us won't miraculously disappear, but they won't have the control they once had over us. The Lord will provide us with the confidence and resources that we need to overcome the trials and challenges we face. I promise that God is very aware of you and wants nothing but your success and happiness. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
